Three Ways to Really Get Moving

Accountability is a word I have used so often, both for myself and for others. As life gets busier, finding ways to stay accountable to our workouts seems so vital. I love me a good morning routine, but what happens when your routines get interrupted? That's where I have found myself lately (and I could blame the small child that lives with me for all of my problems, but that just doesn't seem either fair nor honest).

I need some accountability.

Because when I don't have time to workout in the morning, I don't feel good. But I have such a hard time making a workout happen, when my morning gets off the tracks.

Here are some things I have tried lately! Different things work for different days, and maybe something will work for you. What they all have in common...a little accountability.

  1. Letting people know about my goals. Tell your spouse, tell your co-worker, post it on social media, tell your newborn....whatever. Say it aloud and, if you want to go a step further, ask them to check in with you in a week to see how you're doing (newborn excluded).

  2. Create a challenge for yourself, and then ask a friend to do it with you. Try to hold a plank for 30 seconds each night for a week, or stretch for 10 minutes before bed each night, and text your friend when you finish.

  3. Sign up for a class. For me, I don't have enough time to get to an in-person class, so the online options available now have been great. And yes, there are so many "on demand" options or even free videos I could do, but there is something so different about signing up for a live class. What is the difference? I actually do it! ha

I hope this encourages you, at the very least, to know that you are not alone if you are struggling to make time for exercise. I get it. And I hope this gives you at least one good idea of how to make a real change and get moving.

Need another nudge?

I have a POP UP PILATES class THIS WEEK SATURDAY, OCT. 29th at 7:30 CST.

Join me on Zoom, grab your mat, and let's move together. Sign up and registration required by 10/26/22. 30 minute class, $10 per person.

Email me to sign up for the class.

Let's be accountability buddies this week! I've got your back, and you'll never regret a Pilates class!
